I’m an author, online marketing strategist, and entrepreneur.

The ‘Corporate 9 to 5 or Be My Own Boss’ game used to live rent free in my mind. I get it.

You’re torn between pursuing the safe ‘9 to 5, health benefits included, make-my-parents-proud, low-risk’ cushion or the ‘I know I have what it takes to build my own path...I just need to ACT on it’ feeling.

I’ve tiptoed around both ends by working a mix of corporate and startups during school while sprinkling my downtime with creative hobbies such as my book publication and podcast launch. A few months before graduation, I needed a solid game plan (well, as solid as you can get in your early 20s).

So, I wrote up my own rulebook and made the plays to score BIG.

I’m talking…

  • Packaged up my 4+ years of social media experience into an online marketing service

  • Earned $7K in my first month of business

  • Gathered Client Case studies that prove my methods

  • Founded (and still growing) a strong mental health awareness community that encourages women to choose progress over perfection through journaling tips, microblogs and video content

My affiliate and brand partnership experience started young.

After partnering with CBC Films and TELUS to produce brand campaigning content before I was 18, being a two-time winner of the world’s largest online storytelling platform and collectively reaching over 14,000,000 million views across my online stories, I understood the power of having a mass audience.

My creative side led to both university endeavours and passion projects outside the classroom. I published my first self-help book ‘Tired of Being Tired, Sick of Being Sad’ to help women re-align their self-worth and find beauty and healing in any mental health journey. The book reflects my own struggles with depression at a young age and clashes of cultural upbringing as a coloured woman.

In university, I served as an Executive Vice-President of the school Marketing Association and was selected amongst the Top 25% across Canada as a two-time semi-finalist in The Great Canadian Sales Competition.

I moved to Ireland alone when I was 19 and built a new life. Still actively involved in extracurriculars, I won first place in Dublin City University’s 2019 Public Speaking Competition and then third place in Ireland’s First Public Speaking Competition in 2019. I graduated as President of Her Campus DCU and applied my skills from these interactive and creative roles by establishing meaningful connections with everyone I meet, online and in person.

first business I ran?

In the 2nd grade (age 7), I launched a gel pen tattoo business behind a big pine tree at school. During recess, kids lined up at lunch by the tree and I drew neon ink and sparkles on their arms and legs.

Sadly, the teachers shut me down (buzzkill, I know.)

countries travelled and lived in?

I lived in Canada until I was 19 and then moved to Ireland from 2018 - 2021.

I’ve travelled to the Philippines, Mexico, Iceland, Morocco, Spain, Hungary, Italy, France, Austria, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, United States, and a few Caribbean countries (islands) including The Bahamas, Puerto-Rico, Grand Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, St Thomas, British Virgin Islands, and St Martin.

Azia still has to see more of Asia.

skill most proud of?

I’m stuck between journaling (I’ve been doing it for over 13 years and have amassed over 21 back-to-back filled notebooks) and public speaking.

I was known as a shy kid but I had this ‘f*ck-it’ mentality internally brewing: I entered a singing contest when I was 13 even though I knew I couldn’t sing and performed ‘Lean on Me’ live. Also, I entered my first business case competition when I was 15 and competed all through high school and won Top 10 in Creative Marketing, representing Canada in Internationals.

In 3rd year of university, I won Dublin City University’s Public Speaking Competition and placed third at Ireland’s Public Speaking Finals.

I used to be shy but I’ve become so comfortable with getting uncomfortable.

When did i start on Instagram?

I opened my first Instagram account when I was 14. Because I grew up in an area where not many of my friends were the same race as me, I connected with other Asian girls around my age to feel less alone and seen, and we ended up supporting each other's posts.

Some are creators I still keep in touch with to this day!

So, you made it this far. Why don’t we combine brains and make something cool together?

What do you say?
